Dissertation Writing: The topic selection

The final year students who are career oriented, trying hard to score good marks in their final exams, taking all kinds of preparation to make themselves the most eligible candidate in the upcoming professional life, are very much concerned about their dissertation.

Nevertheless, most students find it difficult to submit their final dissertation. They become confused, and  frequently ask questions like what the topic should be, how should I begin, how will I be able to make it unique from others, what will be the authentic process to complete it successfully and score the first class marks. Even the Indian students, who are progressing at a faster pace compared to their foreign counterparts, face the same problem.

It is true that dissertation writing is not an easy task. It requires a lot of time and effort and in depth knowledge regarding the same. There are many topics in which detailed dissertation can be written. But choosing the right topic for dissertation is the first and most crucial step on the way to writing the paper itself. Some students might be gifted as far as writing is concerned, but they lack the experience to make the right choice from the very start. The other fact is, for the final year students, it is really difficult to take out time especially during the examination and think over dissertation topic ideas.  In this crucial time, Dissertation India is always by the side of the students with their experienced and expert writers.

A few simple things, may help the students to find out their appropriate dissertation topic -

•    A good way to come up with a dissertation topic is by researching the subject areas where the students are interested in.
•    Jot down any current issues that stand out.
•    Find out whether the area of research is already under development or not. If not, this will give them opportunity to write about this.
•    Keep in mind that if the dissertation topic is highly abstract and very narrow, it may be difficult to get information and resources to produce a quality paper.
•    Producing students own qualitative or quantitative research is time consuming and complex - it may be more desirable to choose something simpler where research has already been done for them.
•    Similarly, if the chosen topic is too broad, students will find there is simply too much to write about and again the quality will deteriorate. They will not be able to come to any firm conclusions if the subject area is too wide.
